Beach Vintage Style Home - Sunshine Coast, Australia

This stunning home belongs to lovely IG friend Tanya of Chesterton Smith Photography. Tanya is a professional wedding photographer and these are her photos. It is truly a beautiful coastal home filled with gorgeous treasures. From a young age, Tanya has always had a great eye for vintage and styling, and mix that with her love of the sea, she has created a beautiful coastal vintage style home.

Take a peep, it's worth a visit!

All these stunning images were taken just before Xmas last year.
Immediately, upon arriving there is a relaxed sense of style. Thongs at the door, tropical plants, painted oars, a coastal wreath and the doormat stating 'Beach'.
You just want to go inside don't you?
The foyer welcomes you with a gorgeous denim style rug that Tanya picked up from Temple & Webster.
Old shells have been passed down from her grandmother.
It certainly is a little piece of paradise in this lovely abode.
The beautiful old creel & the PNG baskets once belonged to Tanya's Grandfather. The old brass propeller and telescope was passed down through Tanya's husband's family.
As you walk up the stairs, there is a gorgeous collection of family photos.
At the top of the stairs, you're greeted with an open living room & it is dotted with lots of coastal vintage style goodness. I love the oar place above the sliding door, the letterpress tray filled with shells & little knick knacks, and in the middle is an old Singer machine packing box with lid used as a coffee table. These are quite hard to come by particularly with a lid as the box was usually thrown away.
Isn't that Christmas tree just divine?
Isn't it a gorgeous collection of small treasures?
A lovely old bookcase that has been painted white and filled with lots of gorgeous aqua & white items - a common theme throughout the home reflecting the colours of the sea.
Displayed on the shelves include these gorgeous vintage blue books which are old 'Shipping of the World' books. They were given to Tanya by her Great Uncle.  The little pottery jars were made by her Grandfather who was once a potter.
It all seems to fit in so perfectly together doesn't it? So beautifully styled.I love this sweet collection of old lanterns & of course the vintage glass float.
This gorgeous old fan has found a perfect home in this corner alongside the package of vintage books.
And a coastal home is complete without a stunning piece of coral is it?
This old baler shell once belonged to Tanya's Grandfathers and it sits on the beautiful old singer crate  alongside the 'i lost my heart the sea sign' below. Sweet isn't it?
Tanya's kitchen continues with the pop's of aqua colour and vintage pieces.
Old scales and tin canisters blend in so perfectly with this modern kitchen & so beautifully.
A beautiful old trunk & suitcase fills a spot in the dining area and a shell wall hanging adorns a corridor wall.

So many vintage treasures styled beautifully.
And finally, another letterpress tray just outside the bathroom door being filled with small pieces of soap.

Isn't it just the most divine beach vintage style home?
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home Tanya.

and until next time,

lover of the sea and all things coastal vintage

  1. This is the kind of home you want to be invited to for a cup of tea, I can just imagine wandering around looking at all these amazing Coastal Vintage pieces! :) That rug at the entrance is stunning x

  2. I really enjoyed the tour of Tanya's home. Lots of little treasures placed creatively around the home. I love what she has done. I also appreciate vintage and coastal treasures that I am placing around my home. I have also started to liven up outdated furniture with chalk paint. My home is not as coastal as I'd like it, but getting there. Tanya has a lovely home full of warmth, very inspiring thank you for sharing :)

  3. Awesome post.
