Coastal Vintage Style Beach House Rental

How do you give a rental, coastal vintage style without making structural changes?  This is the home of couple Lucy Fenton and Josh Markey of homewares shop Fenton & Fenton and they showed how it could be done in the Inside Out Magazine.  All images are from Inside Out Magazine. Isn't it so lovely, bright and colourful?  Old water skis on the beams, lifering hanging from the roof and old nautical flags that have been upcycled and made into cushions covers. Looks fabulous doesn't it? See our range of vintage nautical flags & cushions here So much lovely coastal vintage goodness. Old life ring, maritime poster and buoys hanging on the wall.   Big old boat fender on the bench and glass floats. French Marine Nationale laundry bag from 1950s that has been made into a cushion.  Looks fabulous doesn't it? We have a couple of these available. Lovely old crab pot, taxidermy seagull and bowls of sea urchins.  It's lovely isn't it? I hope it has inspired you as it did me.

Hampton's Style Home with beachy accents

For well over a year, I've been following home stylist Jacqui Grant of @east_coast_living on Instagram.
As you can see here, she has the most beautiful Hampton style home.

Hampton's style is defined by casual, relaxed beach living but created in a classic and very sophisticated way. The look is bright and breezy, plenty of natural daylight with discreet window treatments to really let the light pour in and Jacqui has certainly accomplished this.
Isn't the master bedroom inviting? Jacqui has created a beautiful home showcasing both old and new, and in this post, I'm sharing parts of the old home, and all those beautiful coastal vintage style vignettes & personal touches that create a home. Once a miner's cottage, you can see here that Jacqui has kept the original fireplace and gorgeous stain glass windows and incorporated these into the new renovation.  I love the addition of this stain glass window in the kitchen. Perfect for a seaside home.  The living ro…

Styling with Demijohns

Oh how I adore demijohns.
Once filled with wine, these gorgeous old bottles are a beautiful way to style a coastal home.
Recently I acquired half a dozen for the online store.
These come from France & Italy and were made in 1940's-1960's. Aren't they beautiful? Simply style a demijohn with a big leaf from a palm tree. It states a relax holiday feel, coastal vintage style. Isn't this room gorgeous and so terribly coastal vintage?
I love all the items & colours of this room - the vibrant blue, the rustic oar, old trunks and beach terrarium.
Simple and beautiful.
A great way to decorate the entrance of a home is to style it with lovely old vintage pieces with lots of character, things from the sea and once again palm leaves in demijohns. This demijohn on a kitchen island bench with palm leaves really leaves a statement doesn't it?
It's perfect!
Or how about decorate demijohns with branches of spring flowers. A few of my friends & I joke that one can neve…
