Watson's Bay Hotel

While living in Sydney in the late 1990's,
my friends and I would often take the ferry across the harbour to spend an afternoon at the iconic
Watson's Bay hotel, enjoy lunch and watch the sunset over the dazzling harbour.  Recently, the hotel was given an amazing makeover and much of it encapsulates seaside opulence with nautical and Hamptons aesthetics and all things coastal vintage.   Aren't both these bar areas just divine? I absolutely love the seaside colours, palm leave wallpaper, porthole style windows and life rings in these bar areas. Looks bright and inviting doesn't it? As you will see in the following photos, there are lots more wonderful coastal vintage style pieces. Driftwood, rope and brass boat funnel in the background. Doesn't this collection of oars look fabulous held up with a hook rack? I absolutely love how the lobster pot buoys have been displayed in these settings.
So simple, bright and cheery. Isn't this room divine?  Beautiful old demijohns…

Noosa Wedding Shoot Coastal Vintage Style

Recently, a range of our products were used in another absolutely  gorgeous wedding photo shoot here in Noosa  organised by the very talented and creative team at LoveBirds Weddings
It is titled 'Soiree by the Seaside'..... Giant clam shell & glass floats adding a little vintage style & history to a modern day wedding.
Pieces of brown stem and blue coral were used here on the bridal table.
They make amazing centrepieces don't they?

Simply stunning isn't it? One of our vintage nautical charts was used for displaying guest's name tags and seat location.  Lovely idea isn't it? If I was to get married again, I would certainly hire this Noosa Dream Boat
to take me to the alter and then to the reception. If you like the idea of some of our pieces to display at your wedding to give it that beautiful coastal vintage feel, click below to browse through our website

Californian Coastal Vintage Cottage

About a year ago, I discovered a bright and colourful page on instagram called Art and Sand. A page and blog about life in a little cottage by the sea. Owned by Steve & Carol Cook, an artist and retired school teacher, this couple have lovingly decorated a gorgeous quaint 1928 California beach cottage with bold primary colours, beachcombing finds, Steve's artwork and many vintage pieces that have been passed down through the family. All the buoys have been found washed ashore and painted in primary colours. Looks fabulous doesn't it? And so does the driftwood sign. The wheelbarrow was a find as well and what a perfect piece to create a lovely garden bed. Love the surfboard hanging on the fence that has been painted. All the pieces seem to fit so beautifully in the garden don't they? Bringing lots of colour. It is a wonderful way to upcycled old and discarded pieces.  Handmade driftwood boats & flags adding a lovely nautical touch...   And inside it is filled with…

Oars Galore

Styling a home with oars is a fabulous & fun way to bring a coastal touch to the home. Not only can they be decorative but in some ways they can also be functional. Whether they are old or new - mount them on walls, use as racks, curtain rods or handrails, or stand them up tall against a wall, you can never have too many oars!  As many of you know, we always stock a range of vintage oars in our online store and are always on the hunt for more. And now we are also excited about announcing that we are the online distributor for the new and exciting range produced by Oars Galore. Oars Galore is a new company that custom paints and patterns new oars to suit any decor or colour scheme. All their oars are authentic and handmade here in Australia. One of my favourite is the anchor paddle An anchor within a lifering and the waves of the ocean. Sweet isn't it?  The range also includes the boathouse The Lakehouse The Beach House - Aqua The Beach House - Antionette or Louis Blue Gorge…
