Coastal Home Noosa - Coastal Vintage Style

When I expanded my online store & opened the coastal vintage warehouse a year ago, my very first customer was a lovely lady Jan. It was so wonderful to meet another person who has a huge enthusiasm and love for all things coastal vintage.
Jan owned a shop for 12-years called the White House at Noosa Marina and stocked an amazing range of coastal decor items - both new and old. And when she invited Tanya of Chesterton Smith Photography & I into her home, we were absolutely in awe of her amazing styling. As you will see every space in her home is styled beautifully with all things coastal & coastal vintage. Jan loves all things rustic, natural and white and you can see it blends in all so well here in her home.
The beautiful old oars in the first photo were a Christmas gift from her children and in the living room she has another set displayed above the TV.  Both Jan & I have a huge love of old rustic oars and a standing joke between us is that you can never have too many oars! Jan has around 8 pairs in her home.
"You can never have too many oars Jan!" :)
I love this table in her living room with the old reel, rope, anchor, propeller, rowlocks, pulleys and glass float. And of course the beautiful clam shell below.
Jan has a natural ability to collate a collection of things and make it work well together and also bringing a little of the outside in as in the photo below.
Jan said when she moved into this home, the kitchen was a dark colour so she painted the cupboards & splash back white and replaced the metal sink with a ceramic white one.
Isn't this coastal style collection in the corner sweet? I adore the birds house.
To create an illusion of more space & light Jan hung old mirrors up the stairway. She made some of these mirrors from old windows and painted the frames white.

and as Tanya and I went up the stairs, Jan showed us what she had just recently created in the guest room. And this is what we were greeted with! Wow!
I would absolutely be delighted to stay here. Isn't it fabulous? It is such a delight to see someone create a room uniquely and with all the things she loves from the old sisal rope strung across the top, the fishing net, fishing buoy, anchor and cray pot.
And then the master room - a tropical oasis
and some more gorgeous oars!

and finally some other small & sweet touches.

Doesn't Jan have an amazing and unique coastal style?

What do you love the most?

Next post, I'll show you how Jan styles a table for a party coastal style and a little of the outdoor area....with some more oars :)

until next time,

lover of the sea

and all things coastal vintage
